If run as root, possibly. If run as a normal user on most commercial UNIX
systems, it will not. Most platforms set limits on resource use by non-root
users. The example definitely isn't friendly to the overall system (it
soaks up a bunch of resources), but it won't bring down most commercial
UNIX systems.
