I installed bash (from within cygwin) on my new HP Pavilion 7955 (1.5 GHz Pentium 4) running Windows XP (Home Edition) and everything appeared to be running fine. I was trying to get at script to automatically fire off with a windows shortcut (using bash -e script_file) and starting getting the following error. My normal cygwin start-up started failing and simply typing in bash from a command line gives the same thing. I reinstalled bash (from cygwin) and still have the problem (re-booted many times too). Error message: 0[main] bash-148 sync_with_child: child 2016(0x720) died before initialization with status code 0x0 446[main] bash-148 sync_with_child: *** child state waiting for longjmp bash: fork: Resource temporally unavailable bash rev: bash 2.05a0(2)-release (i686-pc-cygwin) PC: HP Pavilion 7955 w/ 1.5 GHz Pentium 4) OS: Windows XP Home Edition (shipped installed on PC) Doug Buhler ASIC Design Engineer California Semiconductor Test Division Agilent Technologies (970) 288-3533 MST = UTC-7 (-6 DST) (970) 288-0700 (FAX) doug_buhler@agilent.com -----------------------------------------
