Thanks. The part about Sun's cc was confusing me. I was not realizing that
I needed to do the "make STATIC_LD= LOCAL_LIBS='-Wl,-B,dynamic -ldl
-Wl,-B,static'" part since the configure was preping things for a static
build.
By the way, sorry for the use of Outlook.
