I have found HIGHLY improved version of bashdb(bash shell script debugger)
by improved by Rocky Bernstein<rocky@panix.com>:

Please, review.

I beleive it is worth to merge official bash source tree. 
Rocky said he sent a patch to the maintainer, however Rocky got
no answer from you. I guess the maintainer might be busy at that 
time.
