Hi,

..I believe I have found a character set mixup bug in either
Sylpheed-0.8.9, bash-2.05b-5 and/or Red Hat 8, possibly in all.

..config info below description:

..it appears these funny "" boxes in cat/bash replace the norvegian
letters æ, ø, and å, and chops off the immediately folloving
character in bash, and removes the entire line in sylpheed.

..note that I have now set the character set to UTF-8, so I can
read my own norwegian messages. Auto used to "work" fine. ;-)

..what I found in ~/Mail/z-inbox/3 according to sylpheed-0.8.9-1:

..it appears the funny ""'s replace the norvegian letters
æ, ø, å and chops off the following character in bash,
and in sylpheed, just chops the entire line off.

..$ cat /etc/issue
Red Hat Linux release 8.0 (Psyche)
Kernel \r on an \m

Description:
..it appears these funny "" boxes in cat/bash replace the norvegian
letters æ, ø, and å, and chops off the immediately folloving
character in bash, and removes the entire line in sylpheed.

Repeat-By:
..install Red Hat 7.3 with _all_ the goodies, upgrade to 8.0, move to
utf-8, then update to newest sylpheed, then send norwegian language
mail to newspaper distributor asking where the hell is my newspaper,
and finally read polite response.
