Jobs usually require that you be a native speaker of English from: The U.S., 
Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or the U.K.  In some instances people who are 
fluent, but not a native speaker are hired.

Most jobs require a 4 year college degree in any subject in order to get a 
teaching work visa.  If you have a Master's degree in any subject then you 
qualify to work at the university level. Some countries such as China do not 
require a college degree at all, but the employer may still want one.

Employers will always pay your expenses for getting to their location.

You naturally will need a passport.  If hired, the employer will send you what 
is called: "Certificate for Confirmation of Visa Issuance" for you to get your 
teaching visa at the country's consulate office near you.  They will also 
arrange for a round trip air ticket, or reimburse you when you arrive.  All you 
have to do then is pack and go. 

The vast majority of jobs are at privately owned schools (called hogwons in 
Korea).  

The highest paying places are in: Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, where the pay 
ranges from about $1,600.00 to $2,400.00 USD. per month.  Since you will have 
few expenses, it is quite easy to save $1,000.00 USD per month in these places.
