Ahh, so that's what it was. I was surprised when a newly compiled Bash
works on kernel-2.6.14 but hangs on kernel-2.4.31 (Slackware-10.2). It
hangs after executing external command (ie. date). But, internal
command (ie. echo) runs and command prompt returns afterwards.
