Description:
  Procedure definitions ought to be scanned and parsed independent of
any current shopt setting. This is especially important if we want to
load a specific set of procedure defintions by the source-command
fromout of the command line (i.e. > source ./mybashmakros). When doing a
syntax check no meaningful presumption about the future state of certain
shopt options at runtime is possible.
