Because recent versions of the Enigmail plugin to Thunderbird insist on
~-escaping lines that start with whitespace, to guarantee that the
whitespace is preserved. A GnuPG-aware client is supposed to strip the ~.
~ However, in my opinion, not one of the smartest actions of Enigmail.
