OK, thanks for the explanation. It would have been helpful to do it as a
separate commit, to explain the purpose. The same explanation would
probably serve well as the contents of the -i file itself too, to avoid
people asking about it over and over again.
(I don't like the idea much BTW, as -i might mean completely different
things for different commands, but well I don't have agree with
everything everybody is doing :D)
