What command do you use, and what version of bash?  Mine doesn't crash
with 4.3 and 4.4-devel.

cat <(sudo pwd) | { cat ; }
cat <(sudo pwd) | { while cat; do :; done; }

You should also consider using bashbug so you could give more details
about the problem.
