That's the right fix.

Chet, when you'll have time, would you mind publishing such fix at:
https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/bash/bash-5.1-patches/
Because then I could try to get it merged into Nixpkgs before
the next biannual release of NixOS next November.

This fix is in the most recent set of patches I released this week
(it's patch 9).
