This was suggested.  There was a counter argument that there are too
many relocs to make this practical, and this might break applications
that have their own ABI conformant aliases for the reloc names.

It was suggested that any application that wants the ABI conformant
names should add the aliases itself.

This is a glibc issue now.  If you can convince glibc maintainers to
change, then linux kernel and binutils maintainers will change, and
other programs will follow.  However, it seems unlikely that the glibc
maintainer will accept a change.
