ld barfs when cross compiling for avr

Hello,

I am getting the following error when building an application for avr
platform (atmega1281 MCU, to be specific)

/usr/local/avr-toolchain-2006.1/lib/gcc/avr/3.4.5/../../../../avr/bin/ld:
region text is full (wsndemo.elf section .text)
