That was a bug in the regex that parsed the makeinfo version number.  It
couldn't cope with a two digit minor version number.  This was fixed
more than a year ago on 2007-09-14:
<http://sourceware.org/ml/src-cvs/2007-q3/msg00041.html>, which was
after the 2.18 release on 2007-08-28.  You really should try the latest
CVS sources if you encounter problems, because releases are relatively
infrequent.
