I added "-Wl,-debug --save-temps" to the CFLAGS, but the output on screen was
the same.

I've just packed the whole folder, so that we can be sure I've not forgotten
anything:

I'm not sure what you mean by 'version script'?

The FreeBSD Makefile is here:
