kernel object I can't use objdump/gdb with

I've a 'btrfs.ko' kernel module that loads fine, but objdump can't open it at
all. Linux loads it perfectly.

binutils 2.21.1a objdump says: File format not recognized
binutils 2.22.90 objdump says: Bad value
elfutils objdump can read it fine, but has very few options.
binutils readelf can read it fine.

With gdb 7.4.1 it says: "btrfs.ko": not in executable format: Bad value
