Hi John,

  Thanks very much for the log.  Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce
  the failures.  I did compile and run both tests, but they both worked
  for me.

  I think that the problem might lie with the libraries that you are using.
  From the logs it appears that you are using the system compiler (gcc)
  but with some custom libraries from /some-userdir/i686-pc-linux-gnu/lib32
  or maybe /some-userdir/i686-pc-linux-gnu/lib.  Is there a special reason
  for this ?
