sorry - I was confused.  I thought that you were reporting a problem with
the binutils shipped with RHEL, rather than a problem with the GNU binutils
running on a RHEL box.

I tried to reproduce the problem on my own box, which admittedly is running
Fedora 20 rather than RHEL 7, but failed.  The linker testsuite passed with
no unexpected failures.

Would you mind uploading a copy of the ld.log file from your test (compressed
if possible) so that I could have a look at it ?
