Revised patch

Now I'm doubly sorry because I made this solution harder than necessary for
myself as well as you.  I misinterpreted the error message from nm to indicate
that the section size adjustments in the linker script were not compatible with
the a.out format, but your changes to pr18963.t included such an adjustment.

All I really needed to do was to delete some zeros.  I propose that you revert
the commit you just did and apply the attached revised patch.
