No, the option SHALL be changed to use the upper-case ‘L’ instead instead of
reusing the lower-case ‘l’ in an incompatible way.
This is breaking hundreds of packages, e.g. *all* packages using imake on
GNU/Linux, causing bugreports such as
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=981072 and
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=997628 in downstreams and
*much* confusion because of the misleading, bad, unexplanatory error message of
“ar: libdeps specified more than once”.
