I see this here as well,

although only on i686-linux-gnu, where the build environment is mostly
x86_64-linux-gnu, and a "cross compiler" targeting i686-linux-gnu installed.
gprofng/src/Makefile.am has a conditional BUILD_MAN, which defines the rules
for those .1 targets, however if we are cross-building, these targets are not
defined, but the man pages are added to man_MANS in any case.
