After a thorough investigation of the build environment, it turned out that the
speed problem was caused by a special memory allocation setting in the chroot
environment or on OBS (see
https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1202431#c8).

The relevant part for this bug was then the memory leak.
