This is caused by NFS bugs.  Unfortunately, they're almost always
interoperability bugs (i.e., they only happen when the NFS client and
server are different systems) and each vendor will insist that the
problem must be with the other vendor's code.  This is the main reason
we say you should never put your repository on a shared filesystem, you
should use client/server CVS instead.
