Preparing a patch

I am preparing a patch that I intend to distribute at large, but I am
running into a problem.  The "patch" program seems to go crazy with my patch
file.

I created my patch file with "cvs diff -c >patch.txt" (from the ccvs
folder.)  Is that correct ?

Then I use the command "patch -b -c -p 0 <patch.txt" and I get the following
output:
  Looks like a new-style context diff.
File Size Limit Exceeded (core dumped)

If I remove diffs relating to the biggest files, the patch works OK.

Should I use bdiff ?  Is my whole procedure OK ?
