Please confirm that the server is running 1.10.8, as well. Larry Jones
and another developer have both reported that a problem like this was
fixed already and, checking the ChangeLog, I can confirm that the
changes went into 1.10.8.

Confirming the server's version of CVS involves logging into the server,
grepping /etc/inetd for cvspserver, and running the CVS command found in
inetd using the full path specified in the same and with the '--version'
option.

If you can confirm that your server is running 1.10.8 you should send me
the debugger backtrace of the core, but you might also want to consider
upgrading to 1.11 as it contains some other bug fixes.
