Synopsis: cvs watchers bug
Severity: serious
Priority: high
Category: cvs
Class: sw-bug
Release: cvs-1.10.7
Environment: AMD-K5-100, RedHat6.2
System: Linux net.wiz 2.2.16-3 #2 Thu Apr 26 19:29:28 YEKST 2001 i586
unknown
Architecture: i586
Description:
I set up cvs, import my latex files, then add two users
into group 'dev' and change group to 'dev' for all files under $CVSROOT.
Now then if command 'cvs watchers table' typed by users of group 'dev',
where table is my project, run not from source directory
(in context - not from checkout'ed directory),
gives following output:
cvs watchers: cannot open CVS/Entries for reading: No such file or directory
cvs: fileattr.c:80: fileattr_read: Assertion `fileattr_stored_repos !=
((void *)0)' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)
And command 'file core' report:
core: ELF 32-bit LSB core file of 'cvs' (signal 6), Intel 80386, version 1
I take notice if 'cvs watchers bla' typed by other users (not in group
'dev'),
output is standart: permission denied.
Other cvs_command's (like status) not have this bug (in my case :).
I take also notice, i know on that is not recommended
to run cvs_command 'watchers' not from checkout'ed directory.
How-To-Repeat:
Written above must be enough.
Fix:
I'm not sure about this problem already fixed, because
i have dummy internet connection (free) and i can not
check sources or updates.
