Problem solved!

have....

After tabula rasa, deleting the whole source directory, unpacking the tar
again and starting configure with the same options, compiling was
successfull.

Here is a download for the older version v.1.11.
Maybe you can work with them to have more downloads for the newest cvs
version under more and newer plattform versions.
