gcvs login problem

gcvs login problem |

Gui 'cvs login' from drop down menu does not work. It does not provide
popup box for login password.
If you open another session and type 'cvs login' from the command line, the
.cvspass is created and then the gcvs gui works fine.
other than login, gui works fine.
Any ideas?
