i get this error using windows client tortoise cvs

In C:\Dan\originals: cvs -q checkout -P test

CVSROOT=:pserver:test@(ip address here):2401/usr/local/learned

cvs server: cannot open directory /test: No such file or directory

cvs server: skipping directory test

Success, CVS operation completed

this is with redhat 8...and the cvs that comes with it... works locally...groups and permissions set up correctly...

i have set the -f option in cvspserver...cannot figure it out...this only started happening when i moved my repository...rather badly i think...did not follow the proper removal proceedure.. hope someone can help me...cheers
