Mark,
the issue was the user failed to close project/solution when updating. when
the project / solution was closed the update was fine. this happened on
several win2K boxes.

Could it be that you are on a windows client and that the file on the
unix-based cvs repository has different capitalization of the name?
Please elaborate on the version of cvs running on your client and your
server and what OS is running on each as well. (Although I am not a
windows guy, so someone else may have to answer if it is a windows
problem...)
