I'm not taking any side of this debate, but I would like to
mention a fact that no-one else has mentioned.  English
may well be fine, but there are a lot of other languages
with their own, incompatible, character sets, and
depending on your system, you will probably be unable to
get the capitalization automatically correct.

On some systems the users don't even get the opportunity
to name their own files on their own computer in their
own alphabet!  On some software support forums, you
won't even get an answer if you don't write in English.

Add in the "occasional" "aggressive" war, and it's a
wonder how we native English speakers manage to call
the French arrogant with a straight face.  :-)  Damascus
or Tehran?  Damn, so many interesting places to see on
TV, so little time!
