Hi Mark,
Thanks for all your help!
You were right about the mingw problems, I had a poorly configured
version of cygwin and mingw, so I did a fresh installation of cygwin
and then ran ./configure again.
I then encountered an error relating to the generation of executables
by the C compiler
(/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-cygwin/3.3.3/../../../../i686-pc-cygwin/bin/ld:
cannot find -luser32) but this was solved by following the solution
suggested in:
http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2002-03/msg01073.html
Many thanks for all your help, I am really grateful that you took the
time to suggest causes of and solutions for the problem.
Best regards,
Stefan
