Follow-up Comment #1, patch #4448 (project cvs):
The more I think about this idea, the less I like it. First, it will almost
certainly increase the "CVS doesn't work with make" complaints on info-cvs &
bug-cvs, regardless of its status as a command line option. Second, anyone
who really wants this functionality and really knows what they are doing
should be able to work around the issue by blowing away their old directories
and checking out or exporting again.
I would at the very least like to hear a few use case justifications or I am
going to close this issue as "Wont Do" in a week or three.
