Details:

Hello,

This is a feature request.

I have been using CVS for a long time and it is been one of my best tools in
my development environment. Thanks for the hard work and great product.

Currently cvs client's only way of checking if the local file is updated if
time stampt has changed is to pack it and send it over wire to the server.

This is a time consuming process for especially large binary files with cvs
server being remote to the client.

Is there or if not is it possible to implement md5 hash caches in the client
besides cached server version timestampts so that every time a binary file's
timestampt is changed it is not required to have the file sent to the server
to check whether contents have been changed?

Regards,
Hasan Ceylan
