The dotest_lit function was introduced in cvs 1.9 for tests deep-4,
branches-3, multibranch-3. For cvs 1.8.1, there was no dotest_lit
function and no multibranch-3 test, but deep-4 and branches-3 both used
the dotest function.
I don't have any great objections to moving back to dotest, but I
suspect that the comparison will not be as exact as the current test.
