Brookfield high school is a moderate
learning difficulties school for children with special needs, and most of the
pupils are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
In order to give a number of them the
opportunity for a little excitement and a change from normal everyday life, I am
planning to arrange 2 trips, to France and the Lake District. This will
give the two groups of pupils a chance to improve and develop their social
skills and experience different cultures as they interact with local communities
in a new environment.
The cost of the trip (£230 to
France) can be very prohibitive for most of the pupils and many who would love
to go simply will not be able to afford to do so. In order to make the
trip more affordable for an increased number of pupils, I am trying to raise as
much money as possible to reduce the overall cost per pupil.
What I and the pupils are asking for is
help in any way either by donating a raffle prize, money or something we can
sell either to the children (i.e.:- cakes, sweets) or to the local
community.
Any donation however small, would go a
long way to helping bring some brightness in children's lives who normally have
so little to look forward to, and what for them may be a once in a lifetime
opportunity.
Thank you for reading this e-mail and in
advance for any help offered.
