Well, it's true that whatever command line options you add or change won't
cause me any errors when invoking ed(1). Back when I learned ed(1), it did
not have command line options, other than one optional file name to edit.
So that's how the micro-code in my fingers still works.
But as others noted, there are other risks in changing ed, such as adding bugs
or shared library dependencies.
