I have no idea what you mean by this, please be more specific, I can
only guess. alpha.gnu.org has been down for a while now so you should
use a mirror site. Paul Eggert posted one such ftp site:
ftp://linux-rep.fnal.gov/pub/mirrors/gnu/alpha.
