Ed Morton <mortoneccc@comcast.net> reports this internal error in gawk:

I keep old versions of gawk around precisely for testing behavioral
changes. I can confirm that gawk-4.2.60 and earlier output "@/",
whereas gawk-4.2.61 and later behave as Ed reported.
