I wasn't aware that native support for 'C.UTF-8' is such a new thing. The Ubuntu box our LilyPond CI is running on (and which has a 'C.UTF-8' locale) comes with glibc 2.27 from 2018... Do I understand correctly that for older glibc versions it is always necessary to set 'LANGUAGE='? Werner
