[Bug-ghostscript] Can ps2edit make decent vectors of dvips PostScript?

I have dvips originated postscript files.  I wanted to convert postscript to
vectors, and pstoedit sucks with dvips files!  The pstoedit website
carefully explains that there is a problem here, but not a solution if one
has more than one font.  Illustrator did a nice job on the vectors, but is
not an option on a linux box.

What to do?
