Ghostview error message at startup: Unknown Device: x11

Hi,

I just installed freebsd OS on my desktop PC (running XFree86), but ghostview
doesn't seem to work-  when I launch the program I get the following error
message:

Unknown device: x11
Error: PostScript interpreter failed in main window

I normally run ghostview on SGI and SunOS but never saw this problem.  XFree86
seems to be working properly- I also installed the printer sever.

Any help would be appreciated.
