Creating PDF files using Ghostscript. |

Greetings,
I have built GNU Ghostscriopt 6.52 on my Linux system. I want to create
PDF documents. To date I cannot get Acrobat or Ghostscript to read the
..pdf files I have created.
The process seems to run without errors.
Here is my command line:
$ ./gs -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=/tmp/golfer.pdf
.../examples/golfer.ps
Here is the output
GNU Ghostscript 6.52 (2001-10-20)
Copyright (C) 2001 artofcode LLC, Benicia, CA. All rights reserved.
This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file COPYING for details.
>>showpage, press <return> to continue<<
GS>
$
The above command does create an output file /tmp/golfer.pdf but
When I try to run the X11 port of Acrobat reader I get the following
message:
There was an error opening this document. Could not repair file.
When I try to open the .pdf file using ghostscript I get the following
error message:
GNU Ghostscript 6.52 (2001-10-20)
Copyright (C) 2001 artofcode LLC, Benicia, CA. All rights reserved.
This software comes with NO WARRANTY: see the file COPYING for details.

I would welcome any advice on the cause of the errors and says to get a
working PDF file.

Joseph Casey.
