I don't know if anyone is still reading this group as it seems to be
overrun with "your message has a virus in it" messages, but I will try
just in case.
I have a postscript file, which when viewed with ghostscript/ghostview
looks just fine. However if I use ps2pdf to render it into a PDF, the
resulting PDF has text "scrunched together" -- letter overwrite each other
like they are not being given enough horizontal space.

The above PDF is actually better than most, but notice the in the Balance
box at the bottom, the numbers all overwrite each other.
