Can't View Postscript File

Dear Ghostscript Community,

   I am running ghostscript (i.e., gs) on the RedHat Linux 9.x, RedHat 
Enterprise WS, and Mac OS X 10.3.8 platforms. I have noticed that in the 
case of RedHat Linux 9.x the ghostscript version is 7.05 (this came with 
the system), while RedHat Enterprise WS and Mac OS X 10.3.8 came with 
ghostscript version 8.x. The small attached postscript file works well 
with the installed ghostscript version 7.05 that came with RedHat Linux 
9.x, but on the other platforms with the later versions of ghostscript 
(8.x) the postscript file will not display.

   I downloaded ghostscript 7.05 and installed (from source) this 
version on ALL three platforms and it didn't work either. (Even the 
RedHat Linux 9.x didn't work either! I am receiving the same errors as 
if I were running ghostscript 8.x on the other platforms.) This is 
puzzling since the ghostscript 7.05 version that came with the RedHat 
Linux 9.x release works. What's wrong? Am I not compiling ghostscript 
properly? Any help on this is very much appreciated.


On the RedHat Linux 9.x platform, I get the following results:
