While building glibc-2.2.4 goes without problems, 'make
check' fails with
/home/jochen/glibc-2.2.4-build/io/test-lfs:
cannot write test string to large file: Invalid argument
Inserting some printf's into test-lfs.c yielded a positive
fd, and a return value -1 (what else?). make and make check
for glibc-2.2.3 doesn't show this. I build 2.2.4 with
glibc-2.2.3, glibc-linuxthreads-2.2.4.tar.gz, and
glibc-2.2.3-2.2.4.diff.gz, in this order. Configure was
done with:
CFLAGS='-O2 -march=i586' /tmp/glibc-2.2.4/configure \
--prefix=/usr --enable-add-ons \
--with-headers=/usr/src/linux/include/ \
--enable-kernel=2.2.15
Some info:
gcc is 2.95.3, binutils is GNU ld 2.11.90.0.31.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Jochen
p.s. How to debug a case like this one? That is, how to
tell GDB to use another dynamic loader when debugging? Any
pointers?
