after installing of glibc-2.3.1 lodconfig does not find libraries

Hi,

I have the feeling, that after installing glibc-2.3.1
(slackware-current, i.e.: gcc-3.2, glibc-2.3, binutils-2.13.90.0.4,
Linux 2.4.20-pre10) ldconfig does not work properly. 'ldconfig -v' shows
only the path names which are in /etc/ld.so.conf and /etc/ld.so.cache
has a size of 64 Bytes. 'od -c /etc/ld.so.cache' shows:

So my system is more or less broken. Is there an other chance than to
delete the new glibc and install the old glibc from the slackware CDs?
