== system ==
ASP Linux 7.3 (Vostok); kernel: 2.4.18 with scanner support patches
gcc updated to the last version (3.2.2)
autoconf updated to 2.57
glibc (old) version 2.2.5
== situation ==
glibc-2.3.2 and glibc-linuxthreads-2.3.2 (from ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/glibc)
unpacked
under /home/skuzn/glibc-test/glibc-2.3.2. Building in
/home/skuzn/glibc-test/glibc-build.
== commands run ==
$ cd /home/skuzn/glibc-test/glibc-build
$ ../glibc-2.3.2/configure --enable-add-ons --prefix=/usr > CONFIG_RESULT 2>&1
seems to be O.K. (see CONFIG_RESULT attached)
$ make > MAKE_RESULT 2>&1
== other tests ==
Make produces a file named 'libc.so.6', but if I try to link a program with it,
the compiler complains
about doubled names in the library.
== attached files ==
CONFIG_RESULT -- result of 'configure'
MAKE_RESULT -- result of 'make' (the file produced was too big; I've left only
the interesting parts. If you want, the
whole file, tell me.)
== problem ==
GLibc doesn't compile :(
== etc ==
Sincerely,
Steve L. Kuznetsov <address@hidden>,
