Are there any threading problem in glibc (pc version)? The attached python
code runs perfectly well in FreeBSD, old version of RedHat, and even
RedHat 9 athlon, but hangs miserably on my RedHat 9 pc.
I don't think it's a problem of python, since I tried several versions of
python and serveral kinds of systems.
